Microclimate Chambers

Replicating diverse climates is not just physical, but also very nostalgic. As cultural and ethnical diversity is oftentimes related to natural diversity, recreating ambients with specific humidity, temperature, sunlight and rain, could evoke old memories and dreams, and bring us back to where we are from.

These six microclimate chambers are choreographed to represent six climates, with ambient verisimilitude and staple vegetation. The structure of these artifacts adopt passive HVAC mechanisms to create or enhance the artificial microclimate. Each of the artifacts was designed to engage people with different public program to enrich the experience.

Parametric tools were used to analyze and visualize the physical condition and comfort level in each microclimate, mimicing a quantified control system.
