Collaborated with Neri Oxman in MIT Media Lab, Tokyo 2020 is an experimental and pioneering vision of multi-media design applied in urban scale. This proposal is sponsored and initiated in favor of Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and its ambition is to create brand new building typologies that differentiate from the Metabolism movement. We studied the possibility of enlarging the conventionally small-scale bioprinted structure to architecture scale, and the intricate relationship between the biomaterials and urban conditions.
As a response, I choreographed Tokyo urban data with Media Lab’s bio-constructed prototypes, resulting in a set of artist scenarios in the city for architecture to "grow" out of.
